What QRCode Monkey does well

QRCode Monkey is a long-standing free generator for static QR codes. It applies a logo and colours, exports PNG, SVG, EPS and PDF, permits commercial use, and its codes carry no expiry date or scan limit — because a static code stores the destination inside the printed matrix and never calls a server.

For a one-off code that will never change and never needs measuring, that is a complete answer, and it needs no account.

Where a static code stops being enough

The property that makes a static code permanent is the same one that makes it rigid. The destination is baked into the pattern, so a moved page, an expired PDF or a finished campaign means a new code and a new print run. There is also nothing to count: no server sees the scan, so no report exists.

Mosaqo publishes a dynamic code instead. The printed matrix points at a managed Mosaqo address, the destination behind it changes in your workspace, and each scan is counted against the placement it came from.

When QRCode Monkey is the better answer

Take the free static generator when the payload genuinely cannot change — Wi-Fi credentials, a vCard, plain text — or when you want a single image in thirty seconds without creating an account and have no interest in analytics. Mosaqo supports static codes too, but there is no reason to open a workspace for one file.
