What the Chrome extension stores
The extension generates codes from the page you are on. Work you have not saved to a workspace stays in local browser storage, which means it is tied to that browser profile and disappears with it.
Steps
- Save anything you want to keep to a workspace rather than leaving it local.
- Remember that clearing browser data, or using a different profile, removes local-only work.
- Sign in if you want codes to appear in the web app and on mobile.
- Check the extension permissions in Chrome if it cannot read the current tab.
How to check it worked
A saved code appears in the web app workspace; a local-only one does not, which is the distinction to expect.
What usually goes wrong
- Losing local-only codes when browser data is cleared.
- Expecting a local code to appear on another machine.
- Blocked host permissions, so the extension cannot see the tab.
