Signed image links for Airtable, Notion and Sheets
To display a code image in a tool that only accepts a URL, give it a link the tool can fetch rather than uploading a file by hand. Treat that link as shareable — anyone with it can see the image.
Steps
- Generate the code and obtain its image URL through the API.
- Put that URL in the Airtable attachment, Notion embed or Sheets image cell.
- Remember that a link is a capability: anyone with it can fetch the image, so do not use it for private payloads.
- Refresh the link if the code is regenerated, so the tool is not caching an old image.
How to check it worked
The image renders in the other tool for a colleague, not only for you, and scans correctly from their screen.
What usually goes wrong
- Embedding a link to a code carrying private content.
- A cached image after the code changed.
- Uploading files by hand and losing sync with the workspace.
