How a Mosaqo redirect works

The matrix encodes a short Mosaqo address. A scan opens that address, Mosaqo records the scan and answers with a redirect to the current destination, and the phone follows it. Everything you can change lives on the Mosaqo side.

Steps

1. Understand the two hops: camera to Mosaqo, Mosaqo to your destination.
2. Keep your destination’s own redirects short — every extra hop is another chance to fail, and a chain ending on plain HTTP is refused by some scanners.
3. Remember that the scan is counted at the first hop, so analytics exist for dynamic codes and cannot exist for static ones.
4. If the destination is down, the redirect still works; the reader simply arrives at a broken page.

How to check it worked

Open the short address in a private window and watch where it lands. That is exactly what a scanner sees.

What usually goes wrong

• Blaming the printed code for a destination that is itself redirecting badly.
• Assuming a scan is counted when the destination loads — it is counted at the redirect.
• A destination behind a login, so most scans see a sign-in page.
