Getting started
Static or dynamic: which to choose
A static code stores its payload in the matrix itself, so it works forever and can never be changed or measured. A dynamic code stores a managed Mosaqo address, so the destination stays editable and every scan is counted.
Steps
- Ask whether the destination could change within the life of the print run. If yes, dynamic.
- Ask whether anyone will want scan numbers. If yes, dynamic — a static code never contacts Mosaqo, so there is nothing to count.
- Choose static only for content that is genuinely fixed and must work without any service behind it: Wi-Fi credentials on a wall, a phone number, a short piece of text.
- If you are unsure, choose dynamic. It can point anywhere a static code could.
How to check it worked
Open the code in your workspace. A dynamic code shows a destination you can edit and a publication state; a static one shows neither.
What usually goes wrong
- Printing static codes for a campaign, then needing to move the landing page.
- Expecting analytics on a static code.
- Assuming dynamic mode can be switched on later — the printed matrix is already fixed.
