Share a code for review, and approve it
You can show a code to somebody outside the workspace with a share link, collect comments on the code itself, and — if the workspace asks for it — have an owner or admin approve a code before it can be published.
Steps
- In the editor press Share, choose View, Comment or Duplicate, add a password if you like, and press Create & copy link. Revoke ends it.
- Comments live under ⋯ → Comments; pin one to a layer, and resolve it when it is done.
- To require review, an owner switches on Approve codes before they go live in Settings → Security.
- An editor then submits a draft under ⋯ → Review & approvals → Submit for review, and an owner or admin approves or rejects it.
How to check it worked
Open the share link in a private window: the code shows, with the permission you gave.
What usually goes wrong
- Expecting the recipient to comment without an account. Commenting and duplicating ask them to sign in.
- Expecting a link to expire. It lasts until you revoke it.
- Leaving who approves to chance. Owners and admins can approve their own codes, so agree in the team who does.
