RETAIL CUSTOMER FEEDBACK

Collect retail customer feedback at every physical touchpoint

Create one retail feedback campaign, then add a separate QR placement for every receipt, checkout counter, click-and-collect point or package. Ask a short question while the experience is clear, compare how each prompt performs and route low scores to the team that can act.

QUICK OVERVIEW

What this changes in practice

01

Ask about one retail moment at a time

Retail feedback is more actionable when the question names the interaction: checkout, click-and-collect, delivery, product condition or unboxing.

Use CSAT 1–5 for a specific interaction, NPS for a broader relationship checkpoint, and thumbs or smileys where attention lasts only a few seconds. Avoid a generic “How did we do?” when different teams own checkout, fulfilment and delivery.

  • Checkout satisfaction
  • Collection speed and handover
  • Delivery or package condition
  • Optional reason and follow-up contact

02

Create the campaign before the retail QR placements

The campaign owns the mode, primary question, follow-up questions, language, branding, alerts and response workflow.

Add a separate placement for each surface, branch or journey stage. Receipt, counter and package codes can share the same form without sharing attribution. Updating the hosted form or destination does not require reprinting active dynamic placements.

  • One consistent campaign definition
  • A unique QR code for every retail touchpoint
  • Comparable placement funnels inside the campaign

03

Use receipts for immediate post-purchase feedback

A receipt reaches a verified customer after payment and can ask specifically about today’s checkout or store visit. Its weaknesses are short attention, folding, thermal-print quality and quick disposal.

Keep the CTA short, position the code away from folds, cut lines and dense legal text, and use copy such as “Rate today’s checkout” rather than “Scan me”. Keep receipt results separate from packaging and collection prompts because they measure different moments.

04

Use counters and click-and-collect points after handover

Counter signage has high visibility but little dwell time. Place it where the interaction is complete, not where scanning slows the queue or asks for a rating before service.

Click-and-collect prompts should appear after the order has been handed over: on a collection card, bag label or dedicated pickup sign. Use separate placements for checkout and collection even when both happen in one store.

  • Eye-level prompt after the interaction
  • A direct CTA such as “Rate your pickup today”
  • Separate codes for checkout and collection

05

Use packaging for delivery and unboxing feedback

Packaging reaches the customer when product condition, fulfilment accuracy and delivery quality are visible. Name the subject so a low delivery score is not mistaken for dissatisfaction with the product.

Put the QR on a flat, high-contrast area or insert. Avoid seams, curved edges, reflective finishes and areas likely to be damaged in transit. An inside insert suits unboxing feedback; an outside label may be scanned earlier and measure a different moment.

06

Compare the funnel before comparing the score

Scans measure visibility, hosted views show that the page opened, starts show intent and submissions show completion. A busy checkout can deliver more responses while a package insert has a better completion rate.

Compare like-for-like periods and preserve each placement’s denominator. If a campaign includes a public-review destination, report an outbound review click only as a click, not as a published review.

07

Route low feedback without forcing identification

Responses enter the shared inbox with their campaign, placement, answers and form version. Configure low-score alerts and assign an operational owner before launch.

Contact details remain optional and follow-up consent is separate; anonymous retail feedback still carries useful location, placement and timing context. In combined mode, the public-review action remains available regardless of score. Test the final receipt, sign, label or insert on a real phone before publishing.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Where is the best place for a retail feedback QR code?

There is no universal best placement. Use a receipt for checkout, a pickup prompt after handover, and packaging for delivery or unboxing. Give each its own QR code so results remain comparable.

Can one retail feedback campaign use several QR codes?

Yes. One campaign can power separate placements for branches, receipts, counters, collection points and packages. Each keeps its own QR code and funnel metrics.

Can retail customers respond anonymously?

Yes. Contact details are optional. Anonymous responses can still include the campaign, location, placement, time, score and structured answers.

Can a combined campaign send only satisfied customers to public reviews?

No. That is review gating. The public-review action remains available regardless of the private score, and Mosaqo measures the outbound click rather than claiming publication.
