Feedback and reviews
Publishing an answer on your reviews page
Each location can have one public reviews page. Nothing reaches it without two things: the visitor ticked the publication consent on the form, and you approved that response in the inbox afterwards.
Steps
- Open Reviews → Settings and switch the public reviews page on for the location. It gets an address you can share and print.
- Leave the publication tick on the form. It is a different agreement from being contacted, and without it a response can never be published — the API refuses it outright.
- Open Reviews → Inbox and publish or reject what is waiting. Both directions stay open: a published review can be taken down and a rejected one reinstated.
- Hand the page out the way you hand out any address — on the card, in a receipt footer, in an email signature.
- Check the retention period in settings if you plan to publish old answers. After it, raw answers and contact details are removed and the response is anonymised.
How to check it worked
Answer your own form with the publication tick, publish the response from the inbox, and open the page at /r/…. Your words are there under the name you gave, or as anonymous if you gave none.
What usually goes wrong
- Trying to publish an answer whose author did not agree to it. There is no way around that and there is not meant to be.
- Expecting the page to filter by score. You choose which responses to publish, but the review link on the form is offered to everyone whatever they scored.
- Assuming an imported Google review and a private answer are the same thing. Imported reviews stay clearly separate from feedback collected here.
