Set up a place and collect your first reviews

A place is one business location. Setting it up takes four steps — its name, where its reviews live, what you ask, and a last step with the page address and a code to print. In a mode that asks questions, the page takes answers only after you have opened the form yourself and pressed Publish.

Steps

1. Open Reviews → Places and press New place. Give it the name customers know it by; the website is optional and only needed for the widget later.
2. Choose where reviews live: Ask here keeps answers on your own page and in your inbox, Send them to a platform sends people straight to Google or another platform, and Both asks first and then offers the platform to everyone, whatever they scored.
3. For a platform, paste the review link — for Google, the one from your Business Profile. Continue checks that it opens before saving it.
4. Check the questions. A short satisfaction set is already there; you can have up to ten, and every question needs its text.
5. On the last step press Open the form, look at it the way a guest will, then press Publish. Until then the form turns every answer away, so your own test never becomes the first review. With Send them to a platform there is nothing to publish: the code opens the platform directly.
6. Download the code from A QR to print, or copy the page address. To count scans per spot — a table, a receipt — make tracked codes under Manage codes on the place.

How to check it worked

Scan the printed code on mobile data and send an answer. It appears in Reviews → Inbox within seconds.

What usually goes wrong

• Printing before publishing. The page opens, but it refuses every answer until the place is published.
• One code for several spots. Make a code per placement under Manage codes if you want to compare them.
• Expecting to change where reviews live later. The mode is chosen during setup, and nothing on the place changes it afterwards.
